I really love the concept behind Dina's penultimate challenge for DTGD .
Last year I remember loving Stacy's challenge to use up scraps from our projects, so I kind of re-visited that here, though some of the scraps are older.
The base layer was what I originally made for Bridget's challenge on Sunday, but it didn't work with the way I wanted to go so it's been sitting on my desk all week. And it was telling me it would work really well with Stacy's challenge ;-).
For the base layer, I'd stamped French Script, then sponged with some bright blues and purples and then added texture paste through a TCW stencil. I'd coloured the paste green and it looked a bit bilious - I think in the end I gessoed over it and then sponged some fresher colour on. I used black thread to stitch a border round it.
The matted strip of black and white floral DP is on my desk from either DTGD or HYCCT last year . I tied some fibres round it.
Rummaged through my scrap box and found the punched purple flowers (epic fail at a recent Inkling tutorial when I evidently scraped too hard with my credit card and made a mess, so I just punched the whole sheet into flowers). The Verve flowers on vellum were also from my box of bits, as was the die-cut foliage. I stamped a sentiment on an offcut from Bev's challenge and that's it. Oh - I punched stamens from white paper and added pearls for the centres of the purple flowers.

Well, I love being paired with Dina! And I can see why she loved this - a fabulous work of mixed media, if only I could use things on my desk for such a beautiful result! Wonderful colours, Sabrina! Thanks for another beauty in this DTGD challenge gallery!
